Weekly Bump Photos (Weeks 25 & 26)

26 Week Interview

How far along? 26 weeks

Baby’s size? Head of Lettuce - 13-14 inches, 1.5-2.2 lbs!

Days until next doc appointment? Tuesday

Total weight gain/loss? We'll find out on Tuesday, although I'm sure it's higher than last time... we had a lot of In n' Out Burger on our trip :)

Maternity clothes?  Yes! 

Stretch marks?  None so far.

Sleep:  It starting to suck trying to turn over in the middle of the night. With the pillow between my knees and the bigger belly, it's getting difficult!

Best moment this week:  Relaxation. Total relaxation by the pool and in the sun. Loved Arizona.

Movement:  She's a little ninja in there! And I love it.

Food cravings:  Nothing too crazy. Burgers and fries are still doing it for me though.

Anything make you queasy or sick?  Still can't eat eggs...

Have you started to show yet?  Yes, getting more uncomfortable...

Missing anything?  A good margarita, BUT my friend Mandy gave me a recipe for the Mockarita and it was amazing! I'll be living off of these this summer. :)

Belly button: Still an innie but it's expanding...

Wedding rings on or off?  On

Happy or moody most of the time?  Not very moody, thank goodness.

Weekly symptoms:  Some leg cramps, tiredness, not sleeping great.

Looking forward to: Baby shower in a couple of weeks and nursery projects!

50,000 and Apartment Therapy Feature!

We are back from our Arizona vacation (unfortunately) but we are so glad to see our puppies again! It's been a little difficult coming back to the gray clouds and rain... I miss the Arizona sunshine already!

First, I just wanted to say a big old THANK YOU to all of you for reading! We reached 50,000 page views this past weekend here on Make Bake & Love and that is all thanks to you! I have a lot of fun sharing my projects and pictures with you on this little blog and I hope you stick around for many many more. So again, here's a big old Internet/blogosphere hug from me to you. :)

I have to say, this was my first experience with negative comments though... haha. I never knew people were so opinionated about announcing a pregnancy! Anyways, we had a lot of fun doing the pics so we could share the news with our family and friends. :) PS more of our announcement photos right here.

Little BK - Telling Our Family the Good News!

We found out about Little BK (Baby Kane) on our Leavenworth trip, which made it a very special trip for us indeed! It was mid-December at that time and of course it was eating me alive that I couldn't tell anyone we were pregnant. It was SO hard not to tell, but at the same time, it was kind of fun having our own huge secret just between the two of us. 

We decided to tell our families when we were all together at our annual Boehme/Kane Christmas weekend (the weekend after Christmas this year) but since we were seeing both families on Christmas Eve anyways (at different times) we went for it. After the regular Christmas presents were done and we had stuffed our face with delicious food, I brought out the envelopes and gave one to each of Zach's family. I could barely hold it together and Zach's mom said she knew right away.

Then this is how it went down:
Jenn: You're having a bleeping baby!!!!!!!!
Renee: Laughing and maybe some tears
Katelyn: Some Crying
Bethy: Hysterical Crying
Schmev: Hysterical Crying
Me: Hysterical Crying
Zach: I can't remember because I was hysterically crying

It was a very happy moment. :)

Then we gathered our emotions and went over to my parent's house and delivered their "early" Christmas presents.

This is how it went down:
Dad (before he eve opened the envelope): It's a boy!
Mom (jumping on it before she opens the envelope): It's a girl!
Mom (after she opens the envelope): AHHHHHHHHHH! and some tears
Dude: WHAT?!?!? Big smiles :)
Dad (after he opens the envelope): WHAT?!?! Big smiles :)

It was such a happy day for our entire family!

24 Week Interview

How far along? 24 weeks

Baby’s size? Cantaloupe!

Days until next doc appointment? Two weeks

Total weight gain/loss? About 7 pounds still

Maternity clothes?  Yes! Definitely needed. Still squirming into my work pants/belly band though... I'm sure after two weeks in Arizona wearing swimsuits and dresses, I will need to get some new work maternity pants when I get back!

Stretch marks?  None so far.

Sleep:  Tossing and turning, but nothing too bad. Also, I can't sleep in anymore. Maybe that's a good thing? Preparing me for what's to come?

Best moment this week:  I actually SAW her movements on my belly this week. It was amazing! So freaky (since we just watched the movie Alien a few weeks ago...) and so awesome at the same time. I loved it and find myself just laying there and staring at my belly now. So unreal. 

Movement:  See above. She is more and more active and I love it. Nothing better than getting a little punch to let me know she's doing awesome in there. :)

Food cravings:  No crazy cravings yet. I'm dreading the day I request pickles... please no...

Missing anything?  A good margarita, especially with the glorious sunny weather we've been having this past week. :)

Weekly symptoms:  Leg cramps... ugh! Also, I'm like a space heater. So hot all the time!

Looking forward to: Babymoon for the next two weeks in Arizona! Can't wait for Z to be done with his board exam (last one!) and for us to be able to lay in the sun and the pool and just RELAX!!!

Happy Birthday Brody!

My baby turns ONE today! :) I'm getting super sentimental and a little teary eyed looking back through our pictures of Brody over the past year and remembering how small he was (just a glimpse of what's to come with Little BK, I'm sure)! I can't believe he was smaller than Buster at one point. He's been such a fun puppy - very energetic and playful, loves to jump (on everything... which I hate), loves his brother. He's so kind hearted and sweet, unlike our Buster who is sweet at times, but mostly mischievous. He's also very protective of his home and his Mama. I'm hoping he will be protective of Little BK too. Even though he is a pain sometimes, we love having him as a part of our family and wouldn't trade him for anything. We love you Brody!

Pregnancy Announcement Photo Shoot

My wonderful Daddio (he's a photographer extraordinaire) took some pregnancy announcement photos for us back in February so we could let the world know that Little BK was on her way. My favorite is above (even though you can't see our heads). I love it though! Followed closely by the one below.

We obviously told our immediate family right away (on Christmas Eve, actually! Best. Christmas. Ever.). I'll share more of how we told them later this week.

If you know me at all, you know I have a hard time being serious, especially when taking pictures. I love how those super artistic photos look where everyone is all serious and beautiful, but when it comes to me in that scenario... nope. Can't do it. I break out laughing. I get giddy. And then the squinty eyes come out. So, here are a few more of the photos we took but a little more silly. :)

How did you announce your pregnancy? Did you have a photo shoot? Get some glamour shots? Or, did you do it by text? In person? If you search on Pinterest (like I did) you might find some pretty interesting pregnancy announcements... some are hilarious. Please just tell me it didn't involve a topless husband and some belly art...

23 Week Interview

How far along? 23 weeks

Baby’s size? An ear of corn/grapefruit

Days until next doc appointment? Three weeks or so.

Total weight gain/loss? About 7 pounds

Maternity clothes?  Maybe my belly band and regular pants will last for one more week? Maybe?

Stretch marks?  None so far.

Sleep:  More and more tossing and turning these days.

Best moment this week:  Still has to be feeling her kick. Bigger kicks now and Zachy gets to feel them more often.

Movement:  This past week, she's been punching my bladder! Many trips to the potty.

Food cravings:  No crazy ones this week, although we did have DQ ice cream cake this weekend and it was glorious.

Anything make you queasy or sick?  Still can't eat eggs...

Have you started to show yet?  Yes! It feels like she's growing every day!

Missing anything?  Not being so sensitive around food smell/tastes. Coca Cola and regular coffee. And a big margarita.

Happy or moody most of the time?  Not very moody, thank goodness. Just happy and excited for her to come.

Weekly symptoms:  Tired, uncomfortable. This week I have been super exhausted, which is ironic since busy season is now over. 

Looking forward to: Getting some more projects done for the nursery including a pillow, mobile and maybe some artwork!
