Outdoor Movie Night

A couple weeks ago we went down to Redmond to the Movies @ Marymoor. Every summer on Wednesday nights they show movies on a blow up big screen at the park for $5. It certainly didn't look like the above (wouldn't that be a sweet set up in the backyard though?) but it was too dark by the time I thought about taking any pictures. We caught the last movie of the summer and lucked out because they happened to be showing one of both Zach and my favorite movies of all time - The Princess Bride. If you haven't seen it, shame on you. It's a classic (from the 80s) and is a chick-flick-comedy/satire-action movie all wrapped into one. Trust me. Watch it. My favorite scene is the sword fight.

We didn't bring any food, hoping that we'd get food there. Turns out they had one food truck (with delicious organic burgers), kettle corn, and a candy truck. Not much selection. If we go next summer, we are definitely bringing our own food and drinks! I ended up standing in line for 45 minutes (and half hour into the movie) waiting for those delicious burgers while Zach held our spot on the lawn (we brought blankets, but you could bring lawn chairs too!). Not ideal, but it worked out. At least I had already seen the movie.

We tried bringing the pups, but Buster has been having trouble lately around other dogs. He barks quite ferociously. Probably because he is in the back yard all day (guilty mama right here...)? And Brody just follows suit. So, we left them in the car and they took a nice nap.

Best part of the night - Inigo Montoya: "I want my father back, you son of a bitch!" And the crowd goes wild... Awesome.

Have you ever been to an outdoor movie? I hear the one at Redhook is pretty good too. I just love the experience and would definitely do it again!

Magic Mike

One of my best friends, Kim, scored some free screening passes to see Magic Mike yesterday! I was so excited to go with her. Who would want to wait a minute longer to see Channing Tatum in that movie? No one. Certainly not the large group of older guys that was ahead of us in line waiting to get in to the movie. It was quite a diverse crowd at the screening - I would have expected to see a bunch of women, but there were actually quite a few guys filling the theater. Who knew?

Now to the movie. Mmmmmmhmmmmm. Channing Tatum did it again. Delivered a movie that is both heartwarming and spellbinding. Haha. Well, mostly spellbinding because you can't take your eyes off him, but heartwarming... not so much. The story was fine but I think we all know why you should go see the movie. Channing. Tatum. Dancing. Without. Clothes. He's such a good dancer!

Plus, there's also Matt Bomer (from White Collar). And Alex Pettyfer. And Matthew McConaughey. The list goes on. In a nutshell, you should probably go see this movie pronto! It was funny and made me (and Kim!) giggle and I liked it a lot. You don't need me to tell you do go see it though. Because there's Channing Tatum. Without his shirt. Dancing. OK go see it already! :)

Happy Weekend!

I'm SO looking forward to the long weekend! Plans in the Kane household include watching The Hangover Part II (pssst - if you like this kind of movie, I would highly suggest you go see Bridesmaids. It was hilarious!), taking a day trip to Sedona to go hiking with the BBoy and to get some sweet photos of red rocks, packing for the big move, planning our Europe trip, and relaxing. We only have a few more weekends of sunshine before we head back to the rain, so we are going to make the best of it!

What are your plans for the long weekend? Braving the traffic and traveling? Staying home and chillin' like a villain? Have a great weekend!
